COLORS!

A rugs background or highlights of color can vary in meaning depending upon region and culture, but overall a DEEP BLUE of the Persian rugs and Afghan rugs represents royalty, and a deeply felt spiritual life.

RED can mean happiness and joy.

ORANGE is for devotion and pity.

YELLOW can be an imperial color only woven for nobility, also can mean power or glory.

GREEN is a holy color, sacred, a prophet’s color, can also represent paradise.

Various shades of BLUE represent solitude or truth.

BLACK can represent death or destruction, but commonly woven for its dramatic affect in highlighting other colors.

BROWN often represents fertility.

WHITE can represent a wedding or purity, peace, grief or mourning, depending on the country of origin.

Carpet #3. The Pink One.

standing at the knotted end
standing at the fringe end.
The same rug. Three different angles. Three different color schemes!
How amazing is that!?  The deep salmon lightens significantly into a dainty pink and the bright blue deepens into a rich royal pool of splendor.

The light ripples through the dye and overall design adding a unique motion to this carpet.

This rug is a gorgeous salmon pink with a lovely golden border, highlighting dozens upon dozens of tulips and other floral designs. It is very variable to the direction on light as to how bright the hue is.
The carpet measures 41 in x 70.5 in. fringe not included (roughly 3 1/2 ft x 6 ft)
This is the smallest of the three carpets.

The pile is very tight. The rug is soft, but it is not fluffy like 'the brown one' and it is not accented with black thread like 'the yellow one' (providing the 3d aspect). The surface of this carpet is the flattest/firmest of the three.

Endless tulips of all shapes sizes and color!

It boasts a stunning medallion with a lively story.

I love the natural variation on this end.
The blue changes, an indication of natural dye. I have often wondered if that stressed out the weaver ~that the blues didn't match exactly~ or if they simply smiled to themselves and weaved on.

The outer edge reminds me of a ribbon curling around and around.
It is hard to capture how truly tiny the knots are.

This carpet is being offered at $1,699.00
+shipping.
This carpet is located in Silverdale, WA.
