A rugs background or highlights of color can vary in meaning depending upon region and culture, but overall a DEEP BLUE of the Persian rugs and Afghan rugs represents royalty, and a deeply felt spiritual life.

RED can mean happiness and joy.

ORANGE is for devotion and pity.

YELLOW can be an imperial color only woven for nobility, also can mean power or glory.

GREEN is a holy color, sacred, a prophet’s color, can also represent paradise.

Various shades of BLUE represent solitude or truth.

BLACK can represent death or destruction, but commonly woven for its dramatic affect in highlighting other colors.

BROWN often represents fertility.

WHITE can represent a wedding or purity, peace, grief or mourning, depending on the country of origin.

Carpet #1. The yellow one

This beauty is rare indeed, with it's bright vibrant yellow natural dye from saffron. Saffron is rare and expensive and not very often used to dye large quantities of anything at all.
Saffron is considered an exotic spice to those of us in the western hemisphere.
The rich warmth and unique hues of this carpet will dazzle and delight any room.

This carpet measures 46.5 in x 71.5 in from binding to binding, fringe not included in length.
(roughly 4 ft x 6 ft)

The handwoven design is outlined in black thread giving the carpet a 3 dimensional feel and the details of the design literally pop right out of the carpet itself, mesmerizing the beholder.

The rich coral orange and striking yellow set off by the bright royal blue will set the stage,
worthy of royalty.

The medallion in the center is a common design in Anatolian carpets and prayer rugs

The pile on this carpet is tight, yet soft. The accented stitching gives a lift to the material, welcoming  your bare feet to settle into the confort.

Recall that yellow carpets are only woven for nobility ;)

Easily seen above are the individual rows of weaving, and the natural changes of the color hue with the direction of the light. When placing the carpet in your home, pay attention to the sunlight as if falls across the carpet during the day and position/turn the carpet accordingly to your preference!

This carpet is being offered at $1,999.00
